Cultivating Adaptive Change in Congregations

A workshop for Moravian pastors & church leaders
featuring the Rev. Mark Tidsworth

Friday, February 23, 2018 | 9:30am – 2:30pm | Trinity Moravian Church

How fast can the world around us change? Congregations across North America are responding to the large-scale shifts in our world. This is our new ministry context. Our capacity for engaging change in proactive and faithful ways must rise to meet the challenges before us.

Participants in this interactive event will learn a process for raising their congregation’s readiness for deep and faithful change, leading to relevant and effective ministry in today’s context. Through presentation, small group dialogue, videos, and examples, participants will:

  • Learn why adaptive change is necessary now;
  • Explore Biblical metaphors for adaptive change;
  • Discover aspects of a congregational culture with high readiness for deep change;
  • Identify the obstacles to adaptive change;
  • Engage the 7 key cultivations for readying congregations;
  • Consider an adaptive change ministry plan; and
  • Prepare for proactive ministry and mission in the future.

Cost: $15.00/pastor or $35.00 for up to five leaders from one church. Your registration includes lunch for all registrants and one complimentary copy of Farming Church: Cultivating Adaptive Change in Congregations.

Wednesday, May 23 — Psalm 68:19–27
Numbers 12:1–13:16; Mark 13:14–27

One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty and one whose temper is controlled than one who captures a city. Proverbs 16:32

Let us then pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding. Romans 14:19

God of peace, your word tells us we must not only seek peace, but pursue it. Grant us the faith to trust in you, so that we may lay down our arms. Give
us the strength to make peace, so that we may be blessed. We thank you for all your faithful servants who have taught us the way of peace and justice, especially your son, Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen.
