2006 Synod Year
Moravian Church Synods are an assembly of church delegates, including clergy and lay people, who are called together for discussion, decision, and policy-making regarding church matters. Church legislation is enacted by these Synods or general business meetings. Each Province has its own Synod every four years. Every seven years a Unity Synod is held in which representatives from all home and mission provinces assemble. These synods often include times of worship and fellowship and serve as a time of reflection and forethought to the future of the church.
2006 was one such Synod year. In that year, the Northern and Southern Province held their provincial Synods. Following are the recounts of those Synods. The next Provincial Synods for the Northern and Southern Province will be held in 2010.
