VOICES OF CHRISTMAS FROM THE NATIONAL COUNCIL OF CHURCHES, a Christmas special, will be broadcast Wednesday, Dec. 24 (11:35 PM-12:35 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
VOICES OF CHRISTMAS FROM THE NATIONAL COUNCIL OF CHURCHES is produced in observance of the 100th anniversary of the American ecumenical movement. Hosted by Dr. Michael Kinnamon, general secretary of the National Council of Churches, the program will feature music from across a wide spectrum of the 35 Christian faith groups that make up this interdenominational Council.
Choirs and musicians from Presbyterian, African-American Baptist, Lutheran, Moravian and Brethren traditions will be featured along with brief reflections on the meaning of Christmas from clergy and laypersons from Methodist, Reformed, Orthodox, Episcopal and other Christian communions.
Music, song and voices of worship and prayer have been gathered from 15 states, representing the broad range of Christian spirituality in the U.S.
