The Rev. Dr. Elizabeth D. Miller was re-elected president of the Provincial Elders’ Conference (PEC) of the Moravian Church Northern Province at the Province’s 2014 Synod in Bethlehem, Pa. on Friday, June 20.
The PEC is the highest governing board of the Moravian Church, Northern Province, providing administrative leadership to congregations and program agencies.
“I accept this call and will covenant with hand and heart,” said Miller upon announcement of the election. Miller was elected on the second ballot; PEC president election requires two-thirds majority vote of seated Synod delegates.
Miller was ordained in 1985. She served as co-pastor (1985-95) and pastor (1995-2005) of Lake Mills Moravian Church. She also served as director of Congregational Leadership and Resources for the Western District of the Moravian Church, Northern Province.
Miller was first elected PEC president for the Northern Province in 2010. Her second term will run through 2018.
