5/28/2020 UPDATE

Added: Liturgy for Trinity Sunday.  While this liturgy contains a copyrighted hymn, we have received permission allowing Moravian congregations to use and share the Liturgy for Trinity Sunday in their online services.

Added: Choir recordings for Singing From the Heart Liturgies for Pentecost and Congregational Prayers for Moravians: The Lord’s Prayer and God’s Loving Kindness

Note: If you are interested in using the Liturgy for Pentecost and Spiritual Renewal from the 1995 Moravian Book of Worship, please e-mail Sue Kiefner ([email protected]) at the IBOC.  This liturgy contains copyrighted hymns, for which congregations need proper licenses or permissions to share when using online. Copyright restrictions limit us from simply posting it here.  We have secured permission to allow Moravian congregations to use the final hymn in the Pentecost Liturgy, text by the Rev. Darryl Bell.

See below for a version of the Pentecost liturgy from Singing From The Heart (2010) that does not require additional copyright permissions and also includes organ and choir recordings of the hymns within.  Thanks!

As some churches seek alternative avenues for worship away from their church buildings, we recognize the need for externally available worship materials from our Moravian Book of Worship and other liturgical resources.

We continue to add liturgies from the 1995 Moravian Book of Worship, Sing to the Lord A New Song and Singing From the Heart for use by Moravian congregations. These liturgies are copyrighted by the Interprovincial Board of Communication, who grants permission to Moravian congregations to use these liturgies and distribute to their members.  These should not be distributed or reproduced beyond the Moravian Church in America.

In addition, here are liturgies written by the Rt. Rev. Kay Ward and the Rev. Rick Beck. We are grateful for their inspirational words and permission for their use by Moravian congregations.

Note that these liturgies are ones that do not contain hymns copyrighted by others. That means they can be used for in-person and online performance by Moravian congregations and agencies. Other material in the Moravian Book of Worship that contains a copyright symbol — that is, material whose copyright is held by an outside entity or publisher — must have its copyrights cleared with the owner.
