In 1998, The Rt. Rev. Dr. Kay Ward became the first woman to be elected bishop in the Moravian Church in America. She served on the staff at Moravian Seminary after serving several congregations with her husband, The Rev. Aden Ward. She’s the author of four books: Of Seasons & Sparrows, Heading Home, Hoping for Spring, and her latest book, Park Benches.
Rev. Christie Melby-Gibbons is the executive director of Tricklebee Cafe, Milwaukee’s first pay-what-you-can community cafe and an emerging ministry of the Moravian Church in America.

The Rev. Dr. Nola Knouse leads the Saturday morning worship and offers a tribute to the late Rachel Held Evans, the originally slated keynote speaker of the Moravian Women’s Conference. Rachel entered the more immediate presence of our savior on May 4th, 2019.
