Our Affiliated Ministries

CCD provides administrative and/or financial support for a variety of ministries within the Southern Province.

Anthony’s Plot

Anthony’s Plot is a Moravian intentional community of faith that combines residency, community development work, and a socially-relevant and spiritually-hopeful outreach to bring the good news of Jesus to visible reality our lives, our household, and our neighborhood. The Board of Cooperative Ministries designated Anthony’s Plot as an “affiliated ministry” in November 2013. Since then, we’ve provided administrative and financial support and partnered with them in their important work with unhoused residents of Winston-Salem, now an independent non-profit called City with Dwellings.

Come & Worship

A model of Moravian outreach worship ministry and community, meeting every Sunday morning at 11:00am at the Enrichment Center in Winston-Salem, NC and on Zoom. Follow them on Facebook!

Friends of Moravian Prison Ministry

The Friends of Moravian Prison Ministry is an independent ministry support group with the Moravian Church Southern Province that seeks to:

  • secure ongoing financial support for this important ministry (a Moravian chaplain);
  • raise awareness of the amazing “boots-on-the-ground” work happening in the jail and the prison through the Moravian chaplaincy, which for over 33 years has served the incarcerated population in Forsyth County; and
  • to share opportunities for people to support this chaplaincy with their time, talent, and prayers.

FJPM provides Christian programs, counseling, and re-entry guidance to those in jail in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County. Their mission is summed up in three important words affirmed and embraced by Moravian theology and service to the community: redeeming, restoring, reconnecting in the name of Christ. The Rev. Robert Wolfe, a full time Moravian chaplain, recently retired from Forsyth Jail and Prison Ministries. The call process for a new chaplain is underway. The Board of Cooperative Ministries provides administrative support to the Friends organization.

Sunnyside Ministry

The Board of Cooperative Ministries supports the important work of Sunnyside Ministry through a large financial contribution to their operating budget. Visit Sunnyside’s website to find out more about their work and see how you can help as they serve residents of South Central Forsyth and Northern Davidson counties facing emergency situations caused by financial crises.

Estamos Unidos

Estamos Unidos (in english: “We are United”) serves the Hispanic immigrant community in Winston-Salem by providing education to first-generation Hispanics and their descendants. This ministry started with a vision to reach out in Christian love to the Hispanic community in the Forsyth County area by the Moravian Church Southern Province in 2017 after a thoughtful and prayerful process. By collaborating with other local organizations that work with the Hispanic community, Estamos Unidos provides a wide variety of educational opportunities in English and Spanish. Estamos Unidos strives to present God’s love to our neighbors by living our Moravian essentials of Faith, Love, and Hope.
