All the people responded with a great shout when they praised the Lord because the foundation of the house of the Lord had been laid. Ezra 3:11
No one can lay any foundation other than the one that has been laid; that foundation is Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:11
Christ, our cornerstone, we can so easily become focused on the bricks and mortar of the church that we forget that the church is your body of believers, and you are the foundation. Remind us that we, as the church, are your body called out to be your heart and hands in ministry to the world. Open us to opportunities to serve in your name, to lighten the burdens of others, and to make you known to those who have not heard of your love. Amen.
