John, the Baptist said: Bear fruits worthy of repentance. Do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our ancestor.’ Luke 3:8
Almighty God, keep us from thinking too highly of ourselves. Give us a spirit of generosity, of gentleness, of modesty and of self-control. May the same mind be in us that was in Christ Jesus, our crucified Lord and resurrected Savior. Amen.
