Friday, September 15 — Psalm 107:1–9
Jeremiah 47:1–48:25; Hebrews 2:8b–18

My heart recoils within me; my compassion grows warm and tender. I will not execute my fierce anger; for I am God and no mortal, the Holy One in your midst. Hosea 11:8-9

Jesus said, “I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.” John 12:47

Merciful One, we find it hard to comprehend that we are created in your image, not the other way around. While we are inclined by our human nature to judge, you, by your divine nature, delight in graciousness. May we remember who made us and to whom we belong. Amen.
