Let us look to Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the sake of the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Hebrews 12:2
When our eyes wander from you, Lord, we see only the brokenness of human striving and despair. Yet, even on that bleak horizon, we also see your arms stretched out on the cross. We see you, Lord, beginning and ending everything with love. Amen.
