Saturday, August 16 — Psalm 99
Jeremiah 13:20–14:22; 1 Timothy 1:1–11

If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it. Genesis 4:7 NIV

When Judas, his betrayer, saw that Jesus was condemned, he repented and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders. He said, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” Matthew 27:3-4

Gracious God, draw us back to your loving embrace. May we abandon lives that rely on our own strengths and ideas, and may we find the courage to return to you with contrite hearts. Amen.
