Saturday, May 6 — Psalm 59:1–9
Job 41; 1 Corinthians 11:3–16

In my distress I called upon the Lord; to my God I cried for help. He heard my voice. Psalm 18:6

Jesus was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke him up and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” Mark 4:38

We waited for you, Lord, and you heard our cries for help. Even though we think we can trust our survival skills, storms unexpectedly arise that make us realize we could drown without your help. You remain calmly sleeping, reminding us to trust and rest in you until the storm passes, because your love is our protection from what harms us. In your name, Jesus, we thank you for your protection! Amen.
