Second Sunday of Easter
Watchword for the Week — If we walk in the light as God is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:7
Sunday, April 8 — Acts 4:32–35; Psalm 133
1 John 1:1–2:2; John 20:19–31
The angel of God called to Hagar from heaven, and said to her, “What troubles you, Hagar? Do not be afraid; for God has heard the voice of the boy where he is. Come, lift up the boy and hold him fast with your hand, for I will make a great nation of him.” Genesis 21:17–18
So, it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God who shows mercy. Romans 9:16
Creator of all, you hear our plea, and you give us great comfort. Help us to allow your grace and mercy to transform our hearts—that we may share your love with all you have created. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
