Fourteenth Sunday after Pentecost

Watchword for the week — Let everyone be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger. James 1:19

Sunday, August 29 — Deuteronomy 4:1-2,6-9; Psalm 15
James 1:17-27; Mark 7:1-8,14-15,21-23

Thus says the Lord, “If you turn back, I will take you back.” Jeremiah 15:19

Jesus answered, “Those who love me will keep my word, and my Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.” John 14:23

Gracious God, we seek to open our hearts to your presence. May we remember your forbearance with us, that as you have shown patience, we too must be patient with our loved ones. Amen.
