Third Sunday after the Epiphany

Watchword for the Week — Trust in him at all times; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. Psalm 62:8

Sunday, January 25 — Jonah 3:1–5,10; Psalm 62:5–12
1 Corinthians 7:29–31; Mark 1:14–20

Take care, or you will be seduced into turning away, serving other gods and worshiping them. Deuteronomy 11:16

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal; but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:19–21

Lord, you are our strength when we feel tempted by the world around us. Keep us accountable to ourselves and to those you put in our lives. We know we don’t need worldly possessions and that you, our True Treasure, await us in heaven! Amen.
