Eighteenth Sunday after Pentecost

Watchword for the Week — O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you, I will praise your name; for you have done wonderful things. Isaiah 25:1

Sunday, October 12 — Isaiah 25:1-9; Psalm 23
Philippians 4:1-9; Matthew 22:1-14

I proclaimed a fast, so that we might humble ourselves before our God and ask him for a safe journey. Ezra 8:21 (NIV)

Luke wrote: When our days there were ended, we left and proceeded on our journey; and all of them, with wives and children, escorted us outside the city. There we knelt down on the beach and prayed. Acts 21:5

Great Shepherd, we spend many hours each week journeying to work, school, and many other activities and errands. We ask for safe journeys in our travels. Most importantly, guide us on our spiritual journey and open our hearts that we may be filled with the joy of Jesus! Amen.
