Twenty-Second Sunday after Pentecost

Watchword for the Week — For the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many. Mark 10:45

Sunday, October 21 — Isaiah 53:4–12; Psalm 91:9–16
Hebrews 5:1–10; Mark 10:35–45

So I commend enjoyment, for there is nothing better for people under the sun than to eat, and drink, and enjoy themselves, for this will go with them in their toil through the days of life that God gives them under the sun. Ecclesiastes 8:15

Everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, provided it is received with thanksgiving. 1 Timothy 4:4

Creator God, we are quick to pray when we need help—when our lives are disrupted, when our bodies are ailing, when we cannot deal with the world around us. We offer today a prayer of thanksgiving for all the wonderful gifts you have provided. We celebrate you! Amen.
