Twenty-first Sunday after Pentecost
Watchword for the week — Sing to the Lord, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day. Psalm 96:2
Sunday, October 22 — Isaiah 45:1-7; Psalm 96:1-9,(10-13)
1 Thessalonians 1:1-10; Matthew 22:15-22
You shall not hate in your heart anyone of your kin; you shall reprove your neighbor, or you will incur guilt yourself. Leviticus 19:17
Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. Galatians 6:1 NIV
Lord Jesus, as we attempt to love God’s children without condition, may we share kind and respectful words that honor the dignity inherent in others. H-A-T-E is a terrible four-letter word that should never be used, instead may we use the word love, just as you’ve taught us. Amen.
