Thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost
Watchword for the week — Choose life so that you and your descendants may live, loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and holding fast to him. Deuteronomy 30:19,20
Sunday, September 7 — Deuteronomy 30:15-20; Psalm 1
Philemon 1-21; Luke 14:25-33
With my mouth I will give great thanks to the Lord; I will praise him in the midst of the throng. Psalm 109:30
When Jesus laid his hands on her, immediately she stood up straight and began praising God. Luke 13:13
Today we sing your praises, O Lord. A chorus of humanity joyfully praises your name: the shy person in the back of church praises your name; the squeaky alto in the choir praises your name. Everyone knows the blessing you bring. May we remember to always sing your praises. Amen.
