Thursday, August 5 — Psalm 92:9–15
Jeremiah 1:8–2:19; 1 Thessalonians 2:10–20

“Let the prophet who has a dream tell the dream, but let the one who has my word speak my word faithfully. What has straw in common with wheat?” says the Lord. Jeremiah 23:28

My speech and my proclamation were not with plausible words of wisdom, but with a demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith might rest not on human wisdom but on the power of God. 1 Corinthians 2:4-5

Eternal Deliverer, we cannot comprehend your majesty, yet you treat us as coworkers in the eternal breadth of your labor. Magnify the light you give us, even as we struggle to shine your light to others. Amen.
