The angel of the Lord said to Joseph, “Mary will bear a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21
It is easy to concentrate on the beauty of this holy night as we recite the story of your birth, Jesus. But as we light candles and sing carols of joy, let us not forget the reason you came to earth: to save us from sin. Thank you, Shepherd of our souls. Amen.
