Genesis 5; Matthew 2:13–23
It was not because you were more numerous than any other people that the Lord set his heart on you and chose you—for you were the fewest of all peoples. It was because the Lord loved you. Deuteronomy 7:7-8
God chose what is low and despised in the world, things that are not, to reduce to nothing things that are, so that no one might boast in the presence of God. 1 Corinthians 1:28–29
God, forgive us when we focus on the things that divide rather than the things that unite. May we, as Jesus’ disciples, sow seeds of love in the world and be bound together by the joy of serving you. Amen.
