Thursday, June 11 — Psalm 74:18–23
Numbers 29:7–40; Luke 1:57–66

We have escaped like a bird from the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we have escaped. Psalm 124:7

Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared, and a light shone in the cell. He tapped Peter on the side and woke him, saying, “Get up quickly.” And the chains fell off his wrists. Acts 12:7

O God, our rock—we long for your deliverance from the injustices and oppression we face in a nation permeated with arrogance and self-centeredness. Your people suffer hunger, homelessness, illness, and death; deliver us O Lord! Hear our cry and answer our prayers. Amen.
