But to the wicked God said, “What right have you to recite my statutes or take my covenant on your lips? For you hate discipline, and you cast my words behind you.” Psalm 50:16-17
Jesus said, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.” Matthew 7:21
Savior God, we confess that we are a sinful people. When that spirit of sinfulness and despair overcomes us, we are truly thankful for the life of Christ that has set us free from the law of sin and death. Lead us now to repentance and forgiveness. Amen.
