Thursday, May 15 — Psalm 65:9–13
Proverbs 9:7–10:32; 1 Corinthians 15:3–16

A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. Psalm 51:17

Jesus said, “But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven but was beating his breast and saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’ I tell you, this man went down to his home justified.” Luke 18:13-14

Healing and merciful God, you see us as we truly are and lift our gaze to what we can be. Strengthen our resolve to walk in your way, looking neither left nor right, but keeping our eyes on you. Amen.
