God consoles us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to console those who are in any affliction with the consolation with which we ourselves are consoled by God. 2 Corinthians 1:4
When we know hardship and suffering, Lord, bring us closer to your love. Let us be renewed through the gift of your blessed assurance. Help us turn to our neighbors, and act as your agents in the world, outstretching the hand of comfort and love for them as you did for us. Enfold and empower us, Lord, we pray. Amen.
