Genesis 23:1–24:25; Matthew 8:23–34
I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be their slaves no more; I have broken the bars of your yoke and made you walk erect. Leviticus 26:13
For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1
Remind us again and again, O God, that we have moved from being oppressed to being free, and that we are called to use our freedom to stand with those who want what we have. Let us share our freedom in Christ with all. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
