Tuesday, November 22 — Psalm 131
1 Kings 13:23–14:20; John 17:1–19
He guards the lives of his faithful; he rescues them from the hand of the wicked. Psalm 97:10
As servants of God we have commended ourselves in every way: in beatings, imprisonments, riots, labors, sleepless nights, hunger; in honor and dishonor, in ill repute and good repute. We are treated as impostors, and yet are true; as unknown, and yet are well known; as dying, and see—we are alive. 2 Corinthians 6:4,5,8-9
Protecting God, in faithfulness, we seek to do your work in a world that can feel punishing; a world that may strike back when we stand up for your will. Continue to give us life in you and courage when needed. Amen.
