Wednesday, July 2 — Psalm 80:12–19
Isaiah 17:1–19:17; Ephesians 2:1–10
Though the Lord is high, he regards the lowly, but the haughty he perceives from far away. Psalm 138:6
Jesus spoke this parable, “The rich man said, ‘Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.’ But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life is being demanded of you. And the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’” Luke 12:19-20
Creator God, provide gentle correction and guidance when we stray toward selfishness, and help us to open our hearts and minds to selflessness instead. Help us to reflect your light outward toward others. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
