Twenty-third Sunday after Pentecost

Watchword for the week — Brothers and sisters, do not be weary in doing what is right. 2 Thessalonians 3:13

Sunday, November 16 — Malachi 4:1-2a; Psalm 98
2 Thessalonians 3:6-13; Luke 21:5-19

The Lord regarded their distress when he heard their cry. For their sake he remembered his covenant. Psalm 106:44-45

While they were stoning Stephen, he prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” Acts 7:59

Forgiving God, you call us to forgive others as you forgive us. Too often we do not extend forgiveness to ourselves and others. Help us to remember what your loving, forgiving, anger-dispelling embrace feels like when forgiveness isn’t our initial response. Amen.
