Seventeenth Sunday after Pentecost

Watchword for the week — For to me, living is Christ and dying is gain. Philippians 1:21

Sunday, September 24 — Jonah 3:10-4:11; Psalm 145:1-8
Philippians 1:21-30; Matthew 20:1-16

You shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord. Leviticus 19:18

A Samaritan while traveling came near him; and when he saw him, he was moved with pity. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, having poured oil and wine on them. Then he put him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. Luke 10:33-34

You, God, loves us best. We have a lot to learn. Please help us release the fear that stops us from loving fully and deeply in the way that Jesus, our savior, embodied in his life and ministry. Thank you. Amen.
