The Foundation relies entirely on contributions, both large and small, to carry on its responsibilities. It does not receive financial support from Provincial or District Assessments or from local congregations. Instead, the work of the LLF is supported through the Larger Life Endowment to which hundreds of individuals have made gifts. Gifts have consisted of outright gifts of cash, stocks, and other assets, and planned gifts such as estate bequests, charitable gift annuities and the like.
The LLF is assisted in our efforts by the support of the Moravian Ministries Foundation in America who can provide guidance about methods of giving to the Larger Life Foundation.
Take a moment to think how one gift can help so many ministries and missions. Also, consider the idea of including the Larger Life Foundation in your estate plans. Larger Life will be given to our Moravian Church through the gifts of this generation. Our Lord calls us to new ministries, and new ministries will require a strong church. Gifts of Stocks, Bonds, and Mutual Funds
Besides writing a check, why not consider donating stocks, bonds, or mutual funds? Your tax deductible contribution is based upon the market value of the holding on the day the ownership of the asset transfers to LLF. To learn more about giving securities contact the Moravian Ministries Foundation in America at 888.722.7923. If the holdings are in a brokerage account, they can be wired to MMFA’s account. If they are in certificate form, special instructions must be followed. In any case, please don’t sell the holdings you intend to donate as this may expose you to possible capital gains taxes.
Planned Gifts
Planned gifts offer excellent ways to support the LLF. The most common form of planned gift is the bequest, where the Larger Life Foundation is named in the will. However, besides the bequest there are other options that include Charitable Gift Annuities, Charitable Trusts, etc. These options allow the donor to make a gift, while still alive, and enjoy the benefits of additional income, a tax deduction, and tax avoidance.
The LLF can also be named as a full, partial, and/or contingent beneficiary of a life insurance policy, retirement plan, and/or commercial annuity.
