The Board of World Mission is the agency that helps coordinate the North American Moravian response to disasters around the world. We are currently following Hurricane Debby’s impact through contact with the Rev. Dr. Dion Christopher, Chair of the Florida/Georgia District Board.
Brother Dion reports that Sarasota has been particularly hard hit. The home of the pastor of the Sarasota Moravian Fellowship, Brother Thomas Williams, was completely flooded with three to five feet of water. He has lost almost everything including his cars. Members of the congregation are already responding with assistance, but they need the help of the wider Moravian family. Prayers for Brother Thomas, his family, and others impacted by this storm are most appreciated.
