The third Thursday in August is the Board of World Mission’s Day of Prayer for our Moravian siblings in Peru. The Moravian Church in Peru has been a Mission Area of the Worldwide Unity since 2007 and has been particularly passionate about evangelism, youth ministry, and a number of sustainability projects. Their most recent National Conference was held in 2023, where they elected new leadership and signed an updated covenant with the Board of World Mission and the Northern Province of the Moravian Church in America.
The Board of the Peru Mission Area has shared the following prayer requests:
- Pray for the physical health of the pastors of the Moravian Church in Peru.
- Pray for the registration of the church in SUNARP (the National Superintendent of Public Registration).
- Pray for growth in the Moravian Church in Peru.
- Pray for the pastoral leadership in Peru.
- Pray for the unity among women.
- Pray for the Provincial Board, for wisdom to act according to God’s will.
- Pray for the “El Admirable” congregation in Zaña that continues in the mission of evangelism. Pray for spiritual support through prayer.
- Pray that Peru surpasses its political problems and overcomes corruption in the executive and legislative leadership of the country.
- Pray for wisdom and good participation of our representative at the Unity Women’s Desk meeting in Winston Salem.
- Pray for the eradication of violence against women, young people, and girls in Peru.
