The first Thursday in February is the Board of World Mission’s Day of Prayer for the Star Mountain Rehabilitation Center in Ramallah, Palestine. Star Mountain is a ministry that caters to persons with intellectual disabilities, providing educational and rehabilitation services to children aged 6-14 and vocational training for those aged 14-40. Their stated mission is to “secure a life of dignity for persons with intellectual disabilities (PwIDs) through rehabilitation and training, integration and inclusion, awareness building, and community mobilization based on love, dignity, justice, and equality.” We invite you to join us in praying for our siblings at Star Mountain, particularly for the speech therapy and occupational therapy programs that they provide, which are sponsored by the BWM. Since the war between Israel and Hamas began in October 0f 2023, the ministry that Star Mountain offers is even more important to the people they serve and their families. While the war has not directly threatened Star Mountain, the families they serve have been impacted by job loss and transportation challenges related to the ongoing conflict. We invite prayers for peace.
