The third Thursday in February is the Board of World Mission’s Day of Prayer for Moravian ministries in Rajpur, India. We invite you to join us in prayer.
The Moravian Church operates an educational facility known as the Moravian Institute which operates out of three campuses in northern India. Children are accepted on a basis of need and given dormitory care and a quality education. Many of the children are orphaned, and preference is given to girls, who often do not have other opportunities to access an education. Religious affiliation is not taken into consideration, but the Institute is Moravian and morning assembly includes a time of devotion and prayer.

His protection and guidance throughout the past year, more specifically:
a. Moravian Institute’s ability to continue its Christian education ministry in Rajpur, Dehradun District, Uttarakhand, through
(1) favour in the eyes of the statutory authorities (enabling oversight of branch campuses in Assam and Ladakh)
(2) favour in the community,
(3) dedicated and hard work of our staff,
b. Moravian Institute’s ability to continue its Christian education ministry in Binnakandi, Cachar District, Assam through
(1) favour in the community,
(2) dedicated and hard work of our staff,
c. Moravian Institute’s ability to continue its Christian education ministry in Chiktan, Kargil District, Ladakh, through
(1) favour in the community,
(2) dedicated and hard work of our staff,
Please pray to God for:
a. Continuing favour with authorities and the community, to allow Moravian Institute to fulfil its purpose (as defined in its Memorandum of Association): “to demonstrate the love of GOD in JESUS CHRIST by providing Educational, Medical and other facilities primarily to refugee and needy children without distinction of caste, creed and colour.”
b. Ability to continue to comply with all laws and regulations in an increasingly challenging statutory environment,
c. Formulation and Implementation of a Strategic Plan, under God, for 2025-2030, for all 3 campuses (Rajpur, Binnakandi and Chiktan), led by the Board of Management,
d. Infrastructure upgrades in all 3 campuses, especially building construction in Chiktan April 2025 onwards,
e. Development of a Centre for Lifelong Learning
f. Leadership and Staff Development in all 3 campuses, especially succession planning,
g. Peace in Manipur State which borders Cachar District (after ethnic clashes that have led to hundreds of deaths and widespread arson since May 2023),
h. Protection from harm and evil – of all Students, Staff and their families,
i. Clarity in relationship with South Asia Moravian Church (Mission Province recognised by Unity Synod in South Africa in 2023).
RAJPUR MORAVIAN CONGREGATION
Praise and thank God for:
His protection and guidance throughout the past year, more specifically:
a. our ability to continue Christian worship, prayer, and ministry in Rajpur, Dehradun District, Uttarakhand, through favour in the eyes of the statutory authorities, and favour in the community, in spite of an increasingly challenging socio-political environment,
b. the ministry of our serving pastor (Rev. Bir Bahadur Rana, ordained deacon in January 2023) and Executive Committee and other members,
c. growth in numbers as well as spiritual depth,
d. participation in South Asia Moravian Church provincial synods of January 2024 (in New Delhi, India) and January 2025 (in Kathmandu, Nepal).
Please pray to God for:
a. Continuing favour with the statutory authorities and the community,
b. Growth in ministry among members and the community,
c. Candidates preparing for Baptism or Confirmation in the near future,
d. Extension of ministry by the use of our Church campus by other congregations that do not have meeting places.
