Cuba Pray

April 17, 2025: Day of Prayer for the Moravian Church in Cuba

The third Thursday in April is the Board of World Mission’s day of prayer for the Moravian Church in Cuba. The roots of Moravian ministry in Cuba go back to the late 1990s and the Moravian Church in Cuba is now a Mission Province accompanied by the Southern Province in America and the Board of World Mission. They held a provincial synod in 2023, and consecrated their second bishop in early 2024. Current prayer requests from our siblings in Cuba are as follows. Please pray…

  • For the legal transfer of land to the name of the Moravian Church in Guantánamo.

  • For the construction of the church building in the community of Arroyo Hondo, which already has a designated space.

  • For the purchase of tanks to get the community water filter up and running in that location.

  • For the leaders in Guantánamo who will soon begin their high school studies.

  • For our country.

  • For all the brothers and sisters of the Moravian Church in Cuba and outside of Cuba—for their families, their jobs, their schools, and their projects.

  • For all those who are sick.

  • For each pastor and leader in every district.

  • For peace.

  • For the purchase of a location in Old Havana, as the congregation currently has no place to meet.

  • For the unity of the church.

  • For the visit in May from our brothers and sisters from the ARR Foundation.

  • For a vehicle for our ministry.

  • For the spiritual life of our churches.

  • For the mission in Manicaragua.

  • For new preaching locations.

  • For a meeting place in Santa Clara.

  • For new leaders and pastors.

  • For the people of Cuba.

  • For the needs related to medicine and food.

  • For those pursuing advanced studies at the Seminary.

  • For the training workshops for leaders and pastors.
