Ray of Hope Ministries in Mombasa, Kenya, was founded in 2002 by John and Habona Kisamwa, who were missionaries with YWAM (Youth With A Mission). The Board of World Mission was initially connected to this work through missionaries Michael and Ceci Tesh, and in recent years has supported the developing church in Kenya through several mission grants. Ray of Hope is focused on serving children and churches on the Kenyan coast, mainly through their school, but also through church planting and outreach efforts. The Moravian Church in Kenya is a Mission Area of the Worldwide Moravian Unity and is accompanied by the Moravian Church in Western Tanzania (MCWT), which is also a covenant partner of the Board of World Mission.
