December 22, 2024 at 3 PM — The Table Moravian Church, a progressive faith community in Wake County, is gathering for our outdoor Moravian Christmas worship service on Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 3-4pm at Carolina Pines Park Picnic Shelter (2305 Lake Wheeler Road, Raleigh, NC 27603). We will gather outside at the Picnic Shelter directly to the left of the entrance of the Community Center. Park in the parking lot to the left of the community center and follow the paved sidewalk path to the Picnic Shelter. The space is handicap accessible, and there are restrooms close by inside the Community Center.
This special Christmas Eve worship service will include candles, cookies (including gluten free options), and hot chocolate for everyone. It will be a non-traditional Moravian Lovefeast including a brass band and opportunity to sing along to familiar (and perhaps some new to you) carols. The Table celebrates Communion (Eucharist/Lord’s Supper) each week and practices an open table–anyone is welcome and invited to join! Dress for the weather in jeans or whatever is warm, and bring a blanket if you want. Children are welcome and encouraged! We love kids’ wiggles and giggles and include children in all aspects of our worship gatherings, thus we will not have a separate nursery. Bring your knitting or coloring to join us around the table if you’d like! We will be seated around the picnic tables, but you are welcome to bring your own chair to join in if you prefer.
We hope you will bring your family, friends, and neighbors to enjoy this outdoor Christmas experience with us.
