On August 13th, often known as the “spiritual birthday” of the Moravian Church, a new fully federated mission began among the Moravians and Lutherans. The Moravian Church in America, Southern Province and the Evangelical Lutheran Church (ELCA) entered into a fully federated mission by officially signing the Federation document. This new mission is known as The Dwelling. This ministry and their focus will be upon helping those experiencing homelessness in the Winston-Salem community.
The Rev. David Guthrie, President of the Provincial Elders’ Conference of the Southern Province and Bishop Tim Smith of the NC Lutheran Synod gathered together to sign the document yesterday in Winston-Salem.
