The haughty eyes of people shall be brought low, and the pride of everyone shall be humbled, and the Lord alone will be exalted on that day. Isaiah 2:11

God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, things that are not, to abolish things that are, so that no one might boast in the presence of God. 1 Corinthians 1:27-29

Forgiving God, you hold us accountable to you and to one another. Guide us in our journey to humility, recognizing that there are many gifts in the world. Give us hearts that are open to the variety in the world. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
