New Year, New Hope

The New Year is as fresh as an unopened box of markers, its whole array of colors available, its rainbow tips unmarred, unmuddied, and loaded with pigment. Pure potential. How thrilling!

I’m grateful for the rush that comes with being at the start of something, whether that be a whole new year, a whole new project, or a whole new dream. I’m grateful that even though I may have fumbled and flubbed and faltered the previous moment, day, or year, the very next breath I take is still filled with promise.

I’m grateful for HOPE. Along with love and faith, hope is one of the Big 3 qualities that shape life into something wondrous (see 1 Corinthians 13: 13). Hope is the effervescence—the fizzy delight—that propels me. Hope comes directly from God The Creator who uncaps every marker in the box and applies every shade, saturating me with the full palette of possibility! Thanks be to God!

Oh! May the God of green hope fill you up with joy, fill you up with peace,

so that your believing lives, filled with the life-giving energy of the Holy Spirit,

will brim over with hope! Romans 15: 13 (The Message)
