A note from Camp Hope

Camp is approaching!  For Moravian youth, that means it’s time to sign up for whatever camp covers your area.  In the Eastern District, it’s Hope Conference & Renewal Center, affectionately called “Camp Hope.” Other places register for camps at Mt. Morris, Tar Hollow, Van Es, or Laurel Ridge.

Camp is approaching! Time to look forward to swimming, meeting new friends, vespers, Waking Up with God, singing those great camp songs. Time to prepare for swimming tests, campfires, reconnecting with friends you made last year.  Time to wonder if you will see a bear this year, or deer, or the swans on the lake, or stars in the sky.

Camp is awesome!  But don’t take my word for it.  Let some of last year’s Camp Hope campers tell you:

Katie from Bethlehem:  “I can’t wait to come back!”

Ryan from Staten Island:  “A mysterious amazing magical place!”

Brendan from Nazareth:  “A place where you can open up with God and expand your faith with people you love.”

Harry from Northampton:  “The best week of my summer vacation.”

Owen from Mount Laurel:  “Like a home away from home.”

Abby from York :  “A spark that grows into a fire of the Christian faith.”

Camp is awesome!  It’s a place to have fun, be with other Moravian youth, and learn without knowing it.

The writer of Job might have been describing a little bit of camp life:

“But ask the animals, and they will teach you;

The birds of the air, and they will tell you;

Ask the plants of the earth, and they will teach you;

And the fish of the sea will declare to you.

Who among all these does not know

That the hand of the Lord has done this?”

                                    (Job 12: 7-9)

Come be a part of an awesome camp this year!  Go to camphope.org/youth-conferences, and click on “Register Here.”  I look forward to seeing you at camp!
