Camp and Stewardship of Our World

I have always felt closest to God in Nature. Fortunately, I live in a place where I walk out my front door and that is all I see. In fact, I can be on a hike in the woods 20 steps from my front door. Not everyone has (or even wants!) this opportunity. Fortunately, there is a place where everyone can spend just the right amount of time in nature: CAMP.

The next two months on the Eastern District Youth and Young Adult social media (and here too) we are going to spend some time talking about two different, but closely related, topics; “Camp Experiences” and “Stewardship of our World”.

Camp is a place where we get to connect with friends as we grow closer to God… with plenty of God’s nature all around us. There are plenty of Bible verses that talk about how the Earth is God’s creation and how we should take care of it. (starting in Genesis 1:26) God calls us to be stewards of His Earth. Over the next two months we will hear from fellow Moravians as we learn more!

Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth’.
