Camp for All

Did you attend Camp Hope in the “good old days?”  Have you recently become “too old” to be a camper, and you miss it?  Did you ever think that “kids” have all the fun when it comes to camp?

Camp is no longer just for kids and youth!  There are plenty of opportunities for adults to get involved with camp.  At Hope Conference & Renewal Center (Camp Hope), we need adults (over 18) as counselors, camp deans, nurses and medical professionals, and more.  We can use volunteers to help with selected maintenance projects, and people to help on Work Weekends.

Camp has also begun offering weekend retreats for adults, to give them an excuse to return to camp, even briefly.  Last fall was “Movement and Meditation,” a retreat focusing on yoga and Tai Chi; this spring we offered a Winter Wisdom Weekend, combining work with prayer. Next fall is a retreat called “Portals to Prayer.”  We offer a Women’s Retreat at the end of September (Quilt Camp), and have plans for a corresponding Men’s Retreat  if there is any interest.   There is also Intro to Mission, led by members of the NorthEast Moravian Disaster Response (NEMDR) team, coming up in May.

And then there are the obvious ways to help:  by donating much-needed funds, and by keeping the camp in your prayers.  We can always use more of both.  Need I say more?

Camp:  Not just for kids anymore!  I look forward to seeing you at camp, no matter how many birthdays you have celebrated!
