Marquardt Village, a Moravian retirement and assisted living community in Watertown, Wisconsin, celebrated the official dedication of a new worship and gathering space called The Grove on Saturday, April 22nd. Completed in 2020, the dedication was delayed due to the pandemic. Matt Mauthe, Marquardt Village CEO, recounted the development of the new space and the Rev. Jane Gehler, Director of Spiritual Care, preached. As part of her sermon she emphasized that she was “standing on holy ground” by removing her shoes. Bishops Paul Graf and Kay Ward led the formal dedication liturgy and former Chaplains Rev. Dr. Rick Brewer and Rev. John Fritts participated, along with PEC President Betsy Miller and Western District President Bruce Nelson.
