Día de los Niños, Día de los Libros at Sunnyside Community Center. Día! is a community event to support and celebrate children and youth, their cultures, and their hopes and dreams. Día! will include indoor and outdoor activities, ice cream food truck, hot dogs, face painting, and lots of interactive booths for children of all ages. Registration for other Sunnyside programs will also take place at this event including the Sunnyside Freedom School. 3 E Devonshire St, Winston-Salem, N.C., 27107 (location of the new Sunnyside Community Center).

Macedonia Moravian Church and Preschool’s Spring Fling.  Featuring vendor booths, face painting, bounce house, Snobiz shaved ice, food, basket raffle, and yard games. This event is open to the public and its proceeds will go towards Macedonia Moravian’s Preschool Scholarship Fund. 700 NC Highway 801 N, Advance, N.C., 27006.

Yard Sale at Macedonia Moravian Church. 700 NC Highway 801 N., Advance, NC 27006. $20 for a 20x20ft space, keep your earnings. You are responsible for providing your own table and removing unsold items. Women’s Fellowship will have a bake sale. Men’s Fellowship will have hot dog lunch. “Lets Take a Walk” hosted by Women of Home Moravian Church at Salem Creek Greenway. They’ll meet at Central Park and take the Greenway through the Gateway Nature Preserve. This walk is paved, flat, and mostly unshaded. Post-walk tailgating.

Join Women of Home Church this spring for fellowship and a little fitness through their monthly walk series. They typically walk 2 to 3 miles and finish either at a nearby coffee shop or with a parking lot tailgate. You will receive more details about each walk the week before it takes place; if the weather necessitates that the walk be canceled, you’ll be notified via email.

May 30, Thrusday at 9 AM-3:30 PM
Youth Mental Health First Aid Training at Calvary Moravian (600 Holly Ave. Winston-Salem, NC). This training is best suited for anyone who will be a counselor at Laurel Ridge Camps this summer or folks who work with youth in their congregations or otherwise. The training is free but a donation can be made on the MMFA portal that will go towards an honorarium for the speaker. There are 30 total spots in the class. Lunch will be provided. Register Here.

City with Dwellings Book Club will be hosting a discussion of Kevin Adler and Donald Burnes’ When We Walk By: Forgotten Humanity, Broken Systems, and the Role We Can Each Play in Ending Homelessness in America. At 1 PM the Book Club will take place in person at the Hub (502 N. Broad st., Winston-Salem, N.C., 27101) or at 7 PM Online (More information coming soon).

Rural Hall Moravian Church’s “The Great RuralFEST Bake Off” Competition and Sale.

  • $10 a table for vendors. Vendors may bring both baked goods to sell and for the competition. Competition items should be cut/presented as small bites for sharing.
  • Visitors Entry fee is $5. Visitors will recieve 5 tickets at entry to vote for their favorite baked goods, with additional tickets available for $1 each.
  • 50% of revenue will go towards St. James Methodist Church’s Food Pantry, the remaining 50% will be granted to the winner(s) with the most vendor tickets.
