Fifteenth Sunday after Pentecost

Watchword for the week — I will praise the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God all my life long. Psalm 146:2

Sunday, September 5 — Isaiah 35:4-7a; Psalm 146
James 2:1-10,(11-13),14-17; Mark 7:24-37

Keep your voice from weeping, and your eyes from tears; for there is a reward for your work, says the Lord. Jeremiah 31:16

And will not God grant justice to his chosen ones who cry to him day and night? Luke 18:7

God of grace, merciful and just are you. Our weeping may endure for the night, but your joy comes in the morning. This gives us strength and courage to stand for justice, peace, and love. Amen.
