Friday, December 4 — Psalm 139:7–12

The haughty eyes of people shall be brought low, and the pride of everyone shall be humbled; and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day. Isaiah 2:11

Impartial God, too often we use the Advent season to pat ourselves on the back for helping “the needy.” We take pride in being generous. Help us to see that in your eyes we all need your saving grace. Humble us, loving Lord. Amen.
